- Mixing
Learn from one of the most creative mixers in the game,Tchad Blake! Hosted at his private studio in Wales, this series follows Blake's entire mix process for the song 'Love & Hate' by Her, which was tracked by Andrew Scheps and documented in our first 'Recording a Band' series! Upon receiving the multi-track and rough mix from Andrew, Tchad imports it into his unique Pro Tools template session that he explains in detail. He proceeds to combine the expertly-recorded vocals, drums, bass, guitars and synthesizers with an array of daring mix techniques. You'll see how he uses a variety of plug-ins to apply EQ, compression, distortion, spatial enhancement, effects, and more. Despite working fully 'in the box', Tchad never fails to achieve the character and grit of magnetic tape and analog processing with a contemporary modern twist!
